General & important notice.
Eligibility
Open to all riders over the age of 10 and under 16 years old on the 25th August 2012. You are required to show legal proof of entrant’s age, at signing on. Acceptable proofs listed on entry form.
Venue / Start and finish
The event will start and finish at “Walters Arena”, signed off A4109, near Glyn-Neath, A465, South Wales.
A map to the venue is attached. Please take note of the directions as there are two stretches to the A4109 and the entrance to the event is on the stretch from Glyn-Neath to Ollwyn NOT where the road that passes through the town of Seven Sisters.
Entries
Entry fee £35.00 per person. Entries to be done on-line, payment to be done by PayPal.
Late entries may be accepted, at the organiser’s discretion, from the 16th of August right up to entries at signing on the day. These late entries will be subject to a £8.00 levy, which will be added to cover the additional administration for the organisers and all concerned.
Cancellation
If the event is cancelled or if you cancel for any reason an £8 administration fee will be retained.
Classes
Junior class for 10 and 11 year olds.
Intermediate class for 12 and 13 year olds.
Senior class for 14 and 15 year olds.
DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR PROOF OF AGE TO THE EVENT – YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE WITHOUT IT !
Nature of the event
The course will consist of a 5 to 8 mile lap of a flowing nature through forest trails and gravel tracks, run entirely on private land.
There will be alternative routes as an option for avoiding any technical areas.
The winner of each class will be the rider deemed to have completed the most laps of the course within the allotted race duration. This will be decided at the organisers’ discretion and no correspondence or communication will be directly entered into. Though there will be results for this race, emphasis is of course on fun and experience for the next generation of enduro riders.
Race Start
The start on Saturday will be group starts by classes, with the Senior class leading the first wave starting at 10:00am. The remaining class will then follow after a minute.
Race duration
The race will finish when the chequered flag goes out for the lead rider in the senior class at the two-hour mark. Those still on the course will be deemed finishers at the completion of the lap they are on. Once the chequered flag goes up, no rider may start another lap.(the clerk of the course MAY, depending on the conditions on the day, alter the finish time.
Tyres
Front and Rear tyre choice is unrestricted.
Refuelling
Only at the designated area close to the start / finish, this area will be marked out with barriers.
Only support crew and riders will be allowed in the refuelling area, at their own risk.
All riders are to have a fire extinguisher in the pits, which should be presented at scrutineering.
No smoking in the fuel area, penalty is exclusion for your riders.
Camping (Free)
The site is on hard ground people with tents be warned (bring something to sleep on)
Parking for caravans and motor homes will be available; HOWEVER this is not a public campsite so there is no electricity, showers or running water. You need to bring your own water for drinking and washing. Portable toilets will be provided. The Bar and Catering will be available from Friday night.
Machine examination and documentation
Signing on 8.00am-9.00am in the marquee.
Bike checking 9.00am-9.30am on the start line
Please note: Parent / Guardian MUST attend and supervise their entrant for the entire event.
Riders Briefing and Sighting Lap
There will be a riders briefing held at 9:30am on the start line. Parent/guardian and rider MUST attend.
The course will be ready for you to walk so you can do a sighting lap from 7.00am on Saturday.
Prize giving
The prize giving will be as soon as possible after the race. There will be trophies awarded for the top positions of each class.
General
The Organisers will not accept or tolerate abuse of our officials; volunteers or property.
Bikes may NOT be ridden around the site or race tracks, at any time.
NO pre-riding of the course is allowed – either by adults or youth.
Only bikes officially entered in the race may be on the race course during the event – no ghost riding.
All parents and spectators attending the youth event MUST supervise their children at all times.
NO PIT RACERS! You will be ejected from the site at the first sign of irresponsibility!
BREACH OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN EXCLUSION AND EVICTION FROM SITE.
